How to get into a top UK University?

Tips for international students

Do you want to go to a top UK university? First, you need to know what the top universities are. Most people refer to a ranking table called "The Times Top 20" to find out the best universities. This list changes every year, so you need to make sure you are looking at the most up-to-date list (see the 2010 list).

For the best chance of getting into a top UK university you need to have a good high school education, ideally from a UK school. This could be studying a 2-year programme like A-levels or International Baccalaureate (IB). Alternatively, for older students a one year University Foundation might be better.

Independent schools in the UK will give you the best chance of getting the good grades you need to realise your dreams. You will need to pay to study at these schools (find out fees). One of the UK's top education providers is Cambridge Education Group, which has colleges in different locations including London and Cambridge - right next to world leading Cambridge University!

You can see here which are the Top 20 Universities for the UK in 2010, and also see where students from Cambridge Education Group have gone to study - almost all of the top universities!
